Rust Wipe Cycles & Server Management
Rust server success heavily depends on predictable wipe schedules. The official forced wipe occurs on the first Thursday of every month at 19:00 UTC.
Maximizing Wipe Day Player Retention
- Announce wipe schedules at least 72 hours in advance via your server page and Discord.
- Choose balanced map sizes (3500 to 4250) to optimize monument distribution and PvP roaming density.
- Pre-generate navigational mesh (nav_disable false; nav_grid 1) before going live to eliminate first-hour CPU spikes.
