What is MCPE?
Minecraft Pocket Edition was the official Mobile version of Minecraft that can be played on mobile devices powered by Android, iOS and Windows phone. Later on with Better Together update, Minecraft PE was changed to just Minecraft and is now considered as part of Minecraft Bedrock edition but for mobile devices.
How Minecraft PE started?
Minecraft PE was planned soon after Minecraft for PC was released, but Minecraft Pocket Edition did not see first release until 2012 when first version was released. Same as with classic Minecraft, MCPE also offered functionality to setup servers.
